FIL Sponsored Place at ILDS 2011!
Attend the 12th Interlending and Document Supply (ILDS) Conference in Chicago for FREE this September as the sponsored FIL delegate!
The Forum for Interlending and Information Delivery (FIL) is offering a sponsored place at the forthcoming ILDS conference (http://www.ilds2011.org/), to be held in the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, 19th-21st September 2011. The sponsorship award covers the cost of attendance at the conference, all meals, accommodation and reasonable travel expenses.
To be considered, a letter of application should be sent to the FIL Secretary. This should include:
- Contact details
- Job title
- A brief description of interlending duties
Applicants should also include a brief explanation of why they wish to attend and the value that they and their organisation would gain from attendance at ILDS (300-500 words). They should also note permission to attend has been sought and granted from their line management.
As a condition of the award the successful applicant is required to submit a report, evaluation or critical appraisal of the conference by the end of October 2011. This will be published in a forthcoming issue of the FIL Newsletter, as well as being used on the Forum's website and elements being reused in future FIL publicity deemed appropriate.
The FIL Committee will consider all applications and make the award to the applicant whom they believe would gain the most demonstrable benefit from attendance. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 3rd August 2011. The Committee aims to notify the successful and unsuccessful applicants of their decision within 5 working days of the closing date.
A place at the conference has already been reserved. However, the successful applicant will be responsible for making their own flights and other travel arrangements, the cost of which will be refunded by FIL.
- Only individuals currently working in document supply or interlending related posts (at any level) within current FIL Membership organisations are eligible to apply for this award.
- Current members and observers of the FIL Committee are not eligible.
- Applicants for this conference award must already have permission, and the ability to travel to the conference, from their organisation as well as a current valid passport.
Applications are now closed. The successful applicant will be notified in due course.
