Fil’s Mission Statement

By providing a forum for the discussion of best practices and policies, the FIL aims to promote and advance the science and practice of Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply and to improve the overall standards of library services by encouraging National and international developments and co-operation in Inter-Library Loans and Document delivery

Governing Document

The Objectives of FIL are to:

  • Provide a forum for the discussion of Inter-Library Loan and Document Supply policies and practices
  • Work with and improve the awareness of other organisations whose activities are relevant to the purposes of Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply
  • Monitor and encourage international developments and co-operation in Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply
  • Promote and advance the science and practice of Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply to improve the overall standards of library services
  • Publicise the role of the Forum in pursuing these objects

As a member of FIL, help us to fulfil our objectives by:

  • Contributing your opinion on inter Library Loan matters via the FIL Email Discussion List (FIL@JISCMAIL.AC.UK)
  • Informing the FIL Membership Secretary of changes to your contact details
  • Gaining maximum benefit from FIL events
  • Paying your FIL subscription promptly

In addition, you may wish to:

  • Contribute to the FIL Newsletter
  • Join the FIL Executive Committee and help to shape and develop the Forum and its activities
